JetBrains Context
Give every AI coding agent you use the same accurate map of your codebase, instead of each one guessing its way through file search separately.

Overview
JetBrains Context is a repository intelligence layer that builds a semantic index of your codebase so AI coding agents can find the right file, function, or pattern across a large or multi-repo project instead of relying on keyword search or guesswork. It plugs into JetBrains' own AI Assistant as well as third-party agents like Claude Code, Codex, and Junie, giving each of them the same grounded view of how the codebase actually fits together. Rather than re-indexing from scratch inside every tool, teams get one shared index that any connected agent can query, which matters most for large codebases where naive full-text search misses the actual relationships between files.
It's currently in early access and included with a JetBrains AI subscription rather than sold as a separate product. JetBrains Context fits development teams running multiple AI coding agents across a large or multi-repo codebase who want those agents working from the same accurate map of the code instead of each tool inventing its own incomplete picture.
Key Features
- Semantic repository indexing across large or multi-repo codebases
- Shared index usable by Claude Code, Codex, Junie, and JetBrains AI Assistant
- Cross-tool consistency for agent code search
- Backed by JetBrains' existing IDE ecosystem
- • Solves a real gap for teams running multiple coding agents against one codebase
- • Comes from an established dev-tools vendor with deep IDE integration experience
- • No separate indexing setup needed per agent
- • Early access, feature set and pricing may still change
- • Most value depends on already using JetBrains AI or multiple connected coding agents
People Also Use
Other Developer Tools tools builders reach for alongside JetBrains Context.
Hugging Face
Host, share, and download open models, datasets, and demo apps — model discovery and deployment in a few clicks instead of a research project.
Dialogflow
Build rule-based or generative conversational agents for chat and voice that plug into Google Cloud's NLU and generative AI stack, billed per request or session. Increasingly marketed as Conversational Agents.
LangChain
Assemble LLM-powered apps and agents from composable building blocks, with LangSmith adding tracing, evaluation, and deployment. Platform rebranded — LangGraph Platform is now LangSmith Deployment.
Ollama
Run open-weight language models directly on your own machine with a single command, or shift to hosted GPUs via Ollama Cloud when local hardware isn't enough.
Supabase
Get a Postgres database, auth, storage, and edge functions in one backend, with an AI Assistant and MCP integrations, so small teams ship apps without managing infrastructure.
LlamaIndex
Connect your own data to LLMs for retrieval-augmented generation — LlamaParse (formerly LlamaCloud) automates document parsing, extraction, and indexing for agentic workflows.
