Microsoft Copilot Studio is a low-code platform for building custom AI copilots and autonomous agents, deeply integrated into the Microsoft 365 and Power Platform ecosystem, enabling enterprise teams to extend Microsoft Copilot's capabilities with organization-specific knowledge, workflows, and system connections without traditional software development. The no-code builder creates topic-based conversation flows that define how a custom copilot responds to specific types of requests, pulling answers from organizational knowledge sources (SharePoint, company documents, internal databases) through configurable grounding. The generative AI mode uses the organization's connected knowledge to answer open-ended questions without explicit topic definition for every possible query.

Agent capabilities allow the copilot to take actions across Microsoft 365 applications and connected business systems, creating calendar events, updating CRM records, submitting forms, triggering Power Automate flows, in response to user requests. The 1,000+ prebuilt connectors from Power Platform enable integration with essentially any enterprise system your organization uses. Enterprise governance features include content moderation, conversation history auditing, role-based publishing controls, and compliance monitoring through the Microsoft admin center.

Copilot Studio is included in Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365 licenses, making it the most cost-effective AI agent builder for organizations already in the Microsoft 365 stack, the agent infrastructure cost is zero for existing subscribers, requiring only the configuration effort.
