Step 1
Map Your Onboarding Journey
Use Claude to help you map every step between 'user signs up' and 'user achieves their first value milestone.' Define the trigger events, decision points, and drop-off risks at each stage.
Step 2
Write Personalized Email Sequences
Use Claude to write 7–10 behavioral emails for the onboarding sequence. Each email fires based on a trigger (signed up but didn't complete profile, completed profile but didn't connect integration, etc.).
Step 3
Set Up Behavioral Triggers
Connect your product's event tracking (Segment, Mixpanel, or custom webhooks) to Make. Map each product event to the corresponding email in your sequence.
Step 4
Build Contextual In-App Guidance
Use ChatGPT to write in-app tooltip copy and empty state messages for each stage of onboarding. Each tooltip anticipates the user's goal and explains the very next action they should take.
Step 5
Add AI Personalization Layer
For users who haven't progressed after Day 3, trigger a Make webhook that sends their current state to Claude. Claude generates a personalized nudge email explaining specifically what they're missing and why it matters for their use case.
Step 6
Measure Funnel Completion
Connect your event data to a dashboard. Weekly, send the funnel conversion data to ChatGPT and ask: 'Where are users dropping off most? What's the most likely friction point and what should we test to fix it?'
